Anomaly Company FAQ

Quick answer

Quick answers: 1–4 players online co-op (solo works), PC only, $7.99, 107 documented anomalies across two maps, no achievements, and the Asylum map is removed. More below.

Everything players actually ask about Anomaly Company, answered from the current build, the store page and the developer's own posts.

The basics

How many players can play?

1–4, online only. The store lists single-player, co-op and online co-op — but no split-screen or local play, so everyone joins over the internet. The password-protected lobby system (added in the first patch after launch) makes private sessions with friends easy.

Can you play solo?

Yes. It's harder the way memory games are harder alone — nobody to confirm what you saw — but solo runs are a supported way to learn a map's anchors. Host a private lobby and do a slow lap.

Is there crossplay?

There's nothing to cross-play with: Anomaly Company is PC (Windows) only, and no console version exists. Crossplay becomes a question if that changes.

How much does it cost?

$7.99 on Steam. For discounts, check the store page — it's the only official channel.

Does it have voice chat?

Yes — sessions have voice and text chat for your crew, and for callouts over a suspicious lobby chair, that's half the game.

Content, maps and updates

How many anomalies are there?

107 documented — 50 on the Office and 57 on the Hotel. They spawn from a pool each run rather than appearing all at once, and the pool has grown before: three new Office anomalies arrived in the very first patch after launch. The full checklists: Office and Hotel.

Are there achievements?

No — the store page lists none, and there are no leaderboards either. Both exist in The Anomaly Project, so it's a notable step back, and one of the most-requested additions.

Will the Asylum map come back?

Unannounced. The developer pulled it on September 14, 2026 over its Outlast resemblance, said a replacement map "will most likely take me a few months again," and hasn't posted an update since. The full story is here.

Will there be more maps and anomalies?

The pattern so far says yes, slowly: the Hotel arrived three weeks after Early Access began, 1.0 brought the (short-lived) Asylum, and the developer has said each map will "continue to grow and evolve over time." No public roadmap exists.

Comfort and performance

Why is everything blurry when I turn?

That's the motion blur. There's no toggle, and it's forced on at Medium and above — setting the graphics preset to Low is the reliable fix. Settings guide →

Can I invert the mouse?

No, and players have been asking since launch. There's no y-axis inversion option.

Is it actually scary?

Yes, in the classic ways: both maps deliver jumpscares (Gavin on the Office; the Umbrella Killer on the Hotel), and the Hotel escalates into brief chase moments. If you want a warm-up, the Office is the gentler map — learn it first.

About this site

Where do the anomaly lists come from?

Community records on Steam compiled during Early Access (February–March 2026), reworded and reorganised by us, then cross-checked against the current build. The developer has never published an official list. Spot something we don't have? Tell us.
